Nearly 25,000 Experiencing Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Storms
Approximately 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday morning after powerful weather events swept through the state, generating wind gusts hitting over 100 km/h.
Large Hailstones and Broad Damage
Homeowners observed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in particular locations. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across the state had been hit with significant hail.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews activated to address the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
At the same time, nearly 1,000 households in Victoria also faced energy failures after the metropolitan area saw its wettest day in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams received over five hundred emergency reports across the region, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

- Wyndham region - nearly 180 emergency requests
At the height on Sunday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in Victoria were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with continued severe weather risk predicted across various areas of both regions.
Safety Concern
Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
This alert comes after past events where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
